Update: 30 by 30…er…um…yeah

20 Mar

3. So I got engaged at the beginning of January and we had a rather short engagement which is perfectly A-OK with me.

4. I got married just over a week ago and I’m loving every moment of married life. Not much has changed other than our love for one another running deeper and now, things are a LOT more permanent.

5. So, we’re three months into 2013 and I’m at least on a semi-roll. I saw the King Tut exhibit in Seattle and I so wish I had been able to take photos to share but they absolutely forbid it and I wasn’t going to compromise my one and only chance to see the exhibit. This is the last time it will be in the United States. Let me just tell you, I’m no history buff but I was almost in tears because it struck me in that way. I can’t explain it. I could only FEEL it. If it comes to your state before leaving the U.S., I strongly urge you to take this opportunity, even if you’re not interested initially.  To be that close to such monumental pieces of history is beyond incredible.

10. I’ve done quite a bit of updating my wardrobe and I finally feel like not only am I looking like I live in the now but I’m way more comfortable and have lots more versatile pieces. I have a ton of plain tops and bottoms but lots of great accessories. I feel a little like a grown up!

11. I’ve started recording more home videos and I’m pretty stoked about all I’ve learned about video. I still have ways to go but I’ll certainly cherish all these memories.

15. So I got a haircut…it was nice but wasn’t outside my box enough for what I was thinking. I probably should have left it alone but instead of doing that, I took the scissors to my hair myself. I’ll share the end result a bit later. I don’t hate it but often times I’m a wash and wear girl so this wasn’t the best idea I’ve ever had. I’m dealing with it, though. Its great when it’s styled but those things don’t last long when you live in Washington.

18. So this one only half counts because I’ve obtained but not fully learned my editing software. I use Lightroom 4 but I’ve invested in Photoshop Elements 11 and Adobe Premier 11. I will, though. I love doing those things, just have to make time is all.

28. I got a new car!!!! I’m totally stoked. I love it and I literally cried when my family and I got into it and drove it away. I couldn’t believe it was for real and I still kinda can’t. All glory be to God on that note. I’m typically someone who plays things as safe as I can so I’m never sure of it when I have nice things because I’m never sure that’s what was supposed to happen. Sound silly? Yeah, I know.

29. Yup, I totally voted, and nope, I’m not sharing who I voted for. I’d rather keep neutral ground on that topic here. Please remember that the electoral college selects each state’s vote but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to make your voice heard.

9.5 out of 30 isn’t a terrible start but I’ll be getting a move on a few of the others pretty soon here and its all planned out. Thanks for stopping by to read about my updates! =)

Whittney & Momo are Engaged! {Point Defiance |Tacoma Engagement Photographer}

19 Mar

_MG_8177 _MG_8187 _MG_8212Whittney and Momo are engaged to be married this coming September and I’m so happy for them. I met Whittney through my husband, Willie. Yup, that’s right…I said HUSBAND. For those who were following my 30 by 30 post, I have an update but that’ll come later. This post is about my dear friend Whittney and her soon to be husband. She is hubby’s Godsister/cousin and she has THEE most bubbly personality ever. Just look at the smiles on these two. I can’t wait. I know that God will bless this union. It has been such a pleasure getting to know these two and seeing Whitt happy has blessed me ten times over. I know her daddy is smiling down on her and though she may not see him, he’ll certainly be present when her big day comes. Love you, Whitt-nay! God bless you both and thank you so much for allowing me to capture some special moments between you and Momo.
