Grad pics

31 Jul

I know these are long overdue but better late than never, right?

So, initially, I had the intention of purchasing the photos from the photography company that was there to do our photos. Though I wanted the photos, I chose not to purchase due to MANY complaints on their poor customer service. I will not name the company because I’m not about bad mouthing or negativity. MOVING ON…
The photos we were able to get are from my mom’s camera. Thank God she brought it! There are a couple with my mom and gramma, or grandma as you may know her (ha ha), my little but bigger than me brother, and my honey bunny. I didn’t get any photos with my little be also bigger than me sister, but I’ll take what I’ve got and savor the memories until I can’t remember them any longer. It was a wonderful day of celebration and I’m incredibly grateful for all the support that I’ve had along the way and cannot wait to embark on the next chapter in my educational journey. Thank you to all those who were there. I love and appreciate you all!
Oh yeah…two things…in the picture of all the grads, I’m the one in the burgundy cap and gown. Do you see me? =)
Also, there are lots more photos but I haven’t gotten permission from the people in them to share and I’d rather respect their privacy than take advantage. They are no less appreciated because their photos aren’t posted.

Lakewold Gardens

31 Jul

I had a nice late morning adventure with my mom, sister, and daughter last weekend in the wonderful Lakewold Garden. I had never been there in the almost 13 years I’ve lived in Washington, among other things I’ve yet to do. So many things to see, so…er, um…much time? Well, anyhow, I had the pleasure of getting to break my camera out which is what I live for next to the things I really do, like, God, family, chocolate, you know, the basics. I snagged some photos and had some fun employing the things I actually know how to do with that thing. Broke out the nifty fifty as it is the closest thing I’ve got to a macro but I’m pretty satisfied with the outcome. Ya know, it just occurred to me; this isn’t really that interesting a post. But, as I think I mentioned before, I really write for my own outlet. This is online journaling for me and I enjoy it. We’ll have to get down to the pictures in a moment. But, going back to the garden, it was one of the most peaceful, serene, quiet places I’ve been…and I may have ruined it for a few people given that I was screaming for my toddler to stop running so far away from me. I think it was something like, “Thanks, mom. I absolutely love this place. It’s so…GET BACK HERE NOOOOWWW!!!” Yeah. That’s me. I’m that lady. It’s cool. Nobody seemed too upset unless somehow I managed to disturb the growth of the trees and flowers with my outrageous disturbance. I’ll get a shot to show how well-mannered I can be another time. We have a 1 year pass to go back as often as we like. HA! I hope if you’ve kindly stumbled upon this post that you enjoy the photos. I’m not really one for gardens and whatnot but I really enjoyed this place. Peace and serenity; it’s the little things in life, eh?
